Chapter 11

Both audio and visual is integrated into the classroom today. A traditional audio is the audiocassettes which have been an economial, durable, and easy to use magnetic medium. They are still used in schools today becasue they are inexpensive and are simple to operate. Digital Media Players like windows media player, Winamp, RealNetwork's Real Player, adn Apple iTunes are are examples for emerging technology. People can collect audio in a buffer and it immediactly starts playing the song back to you. Visual in the classroom is very important because studnets waht to see what they are working on and doing for the day. A traditional visual technology is print materials. Print materials remains the centerpiece in most curriculum. A visual technology that is emerging throughout the years is the Smartboard. This is a great tool that lets everyone in the class see what the teacher is reading or doing on the computer. This will allow all the students to get instructions only once so the teacher doesnt have to explain the project one at a time. This will allow more time for students to work on the assignment. All of these devices can allow the student to listen and look at the assignment.
